Chatterbox- companion mini shetland (or first pony)!

Postby caroldevon on Thu Apr 17, 2008 5:42 pm

Hiall
anyone looking for a perfect companion for their existing horse, or a first pony for children?

Chatterbox is a shetland/mini shetland cross gelding. He's 5 years old, and has been backed and is fairly bombproof - happy with double decker buses, tractors etc. He thinks life is just to enjoy and be curios about. He's got slight sweet itch, and needs ro be kept off lush grass as he gets fat very quickly and I'm worried about laminitis!

He was Nadja's companion, but as Nadja is now at Rollestone in the brood mare herd, I'm looking for a new home for him. Ideally "permanent" loan- as If Nadja comes back to me in due course, I may want him back as a companion. But in the meantime he's lonely and looking for a new friend

To give you an idea of his size, here he is grooming Nadja- the only way he can. And leading Nadja astray in my garden!

me, me, ME!!!! My mare is also currently at rollestone and so with only the 2 neurotic gingers at home I cannot ride one without the other being left alone (and they will NOT be left alone without going completely crazy), also have a 4 yr old after her first pony and a coming on 1 year old who he could be passed onto. We are just outside of Plymouth on the moors.

bless, that is cute!
For any future reference, the shetland cross i've got is on loan from a devon based sanctuary. so if anyone else is looking for companions or anything else give them a go.
As for your little chap, sounds like misspp has got the trailer hitched already!!
All the best.
