Just a quick post to say Checkmate arrived safely yesterday afternoon/evening to his new home. He traveled really well.. didnt sweat up at all. Walked off the box and into his new stable and started munching hay and didnt stop! lol. At the moment hes super chilled and very relaxed.
He has had a name change though from Twinks to Rio

wow he has changed - twinks really doesnt suit him any more. Rio is a very grand name and he certainly looks worthy of it.

Glad all went smoothly. We worry about them so much travelling and then they just get on and do it. Still a big relief when they get there though.

Glad to hear he is safely installed in his new home and is chilled out. I liked looking at the pics, did see him quite recently but he was very woolly with his winter coat then! He is looking nice, and happy

Just to update this post! lol. Rio is doing very well, hes growing upwards and outwards at the moment.. still very short backed but hes finally made it into a 5ft 6 rug.. wont be long before hes borrowing my mares 5ft 9 ones hopefully. Hes around 14.3hhish at the front and about 15hh or so at the back end.. i dont have a stick so thats just a guess.
Hes is a super litle man, so laid back! Nothing has fazed him so far, hes met diggers, tractors, low flying aircraft, shooting, ditches, showjumps (he loves to roll polypoles round the field!). I have started walking him out in hand and hes loving it.. it takes me twice as long to go home as he wants to go further. He is greying out more quickly now.. will be interesting to see how long it takes. Theres lots of pics in the webshots album further up. His hobbies include throwing his jollyball over the door, emptyting out his grooming bag and dunking things in the water, lol.
