Coat colour genetics query!

Was wondering if anyone could help me identify what colour these ponies might be?

Fudge is (aptly named!) a pony at the RS where I work.

This pony is being exercised by a friend.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Top one I'd say Red Dun (has a dorsal stripe, yes?) looks like a Highland cross to me.

Bottom one... any more photos?

I'm guessing a varnish "appaloosa"

Thanks for the replies!

So Fudge, the dun, has the chestnut gene to come out that colour?? He is a little devil actually, overall quite good i.e. steady, but he will not will not will not go lead file and I feel so sorry for the children who ride him! Little monster that he is!!

I do have some more pics of Arabella, I will try and find time to add them. I thought she looked like she could be dilute, as her face has a cremello kind of look to it?! What does 'varnish' mean?
