What 'colour' do you get if you have a few spot mare put to a homozygous coloured stallion?? Does that make sense??

Well, i guess you would get a pintoloosa. Both homozygous for a diff gene it would come out like a tobiano foals with spotting?I guess

Yeah I think you are right WishIHadAFarm - Pintaloosas are not very common but I've seen pics of a few of them. Type Pintaloosa into Google images.

There was one at the show at Poltimore i took Tia too, Perce you may have seen it? Was a little shetland one! Very nice, but i think they could be horrible if more spots than colour or the other way around.

Yes you'd get a pintaloosa or an appiano - whichever way you want to phrase it... some examples below:

Oooo doesn`t this all come down to genetics....the homozygous sire would have dominant and recessive tobiano genes, either of which can be passed to the foal.

If the dam isn't full Lp gene so carrying dominant and recessive for spotting but has say a dominant or recessive red gene the foal could be bay with perhaps speckling, or all manner of combinations, depending on what is the dominant and recessive gene.

Frowns, I think anyway.

*faints*

*comes around*

Gosh that was far too much for a bank holiday, does anyone have cake....I am feeling terribly weak
If it's not cake, sugar or ice cream it's good for you and I just don`t want it!!!
