Hya all, i live in the Duryard Valley just up the road from you. Love the web site must pop around and take a look at your foals, haven't been around the spinney for a few months and that's usually on my mountain bike. Just returning to ponies after 15 years away as ive been cross country racing on my mountain bike. I breed welsh Sec C ponies rather different to Rollestone stock.
Very Happy

Hi Sallie
Welcome to Rollestone Forum. Where in Duryard do you keep your horses? We all ride down there occasionally.
I believe my friends still have their dartmoor pony with Jenny Sampson. He is called Blackie.
Do you know Mel Roberts just up the road from you. She has Welsh B's.

Evening all,
Oh Sarah, I would love to come and meet you all, one day soon.
I used to work and was brought up learning from Francis Stanbury when she had Rollestone.
I have only just returned to horses after 15 years away mountain bike racing so its all very different. What I should of said was I used to breed sec C ponies and i brought the first stallion into Devon.
I have just bought two Sec C fillies and a Sec D weaner who should arrive in October. Just looking for a good sec C stallion once i have my breeding confidence back lol.........

I am renting the stables at the top of Belle Vue Road which are the stables that I had buillt about 20 years ago. I live just above Jenny Sampson and have a couple of stables in a state of disrepair there. We also run our sheep on Jennies.

My Sec C fillies arrive one day next week, so we have been doing the stables up. Do give me a shout if you come past.
One is a 2 year old and the other is a 3 year old so will be breaking her and the little girl at Belle Vue House will be riding her. My grandsons are just starting to get into ponies so they will be helping too. Should be a lot of activity .
Look forward to meeting you all soon. Very Happy

Blackie is a right character and pops up too see us in his moments of madness. Cloudy is getting old now and my daughter Michelle use to ride her, cloud dumper her in the ditch on a regular basis.

I have been down the spinney a couple of times on my mountain bike, at first i was upset about it all as I thought you was a builder and was going to build a mass of whimpy houses or so the rumour had it.
Looks like a super place you have there and oh my word the babies are enough to send the most sane people broody.

Oh yes and Mel roberts and mum are long time friends funny thing is i only said too them about two months ago im never going to have horses again. ha ha.

Did you have a stallion called Dafid. If you did I know you by sight.

Mel and Chris bought Oxo (Welsh B) from me over 20 years ago. They still have him. A lovely pony, and I have never regretted selling him to them, as I knew they would love him, and keep him for life. They did exceptionally well in the showing ring with him.

yes we had Daffyd and Celty, Daffyd was a sec D who my daughter rode and Celty was a Sec C that i rode. When I sold up Daffyd was retired with Marie who used to live in the valley and Celti and all my other stock went to my best friend in Wales, hence ive just bought stock back off of her.
I probably will know you by sight. Yes I new Oxo, great ponies, the sec. B ponies are never quite as popular with us cob breeders because they are a bit fine on bone, but they are great ridden ponies. Mel and Chris never cease to amaze me that they have never wavered from horses onto something else, they have been dedicated for ever.
I cant wait too see Chris when she finds out ive bought in again ha ha after telling her never again only two months ago.
Its amazing how I didn't realise how miserable i had become without the ponies.
I will keep cycling, i still love it and still need to keep fit for running those ponies out. Lol.
Look forward to meeting you Paul_exe
