They are great pics of all the mares and foals! You must have the knack of capturing them in the right pose!

Love the photo of Dylan Paul - very impressive! Some great action shots of Rihanna too - you will be getting a job as official photographer soon!

I would like my photographs to be crisper.... I have only just started taking photographs, and would like to thank Sarah (even though she does not know) for allowing me to take hundreds of photographs...... You have not seen the ones that got deleted.

I am hoping to get better......... trial and error.........

Love the ones of the black mares & well done on figuring out how to put your name on the photos!
Oh and well done on the Dylan photo too! Sar and I were discussing how unco-operative it is when it comes to taking his pic, but you seem to have the knack!

When you say crisper I assume you mean less blurry (they're not that bad!). Do you have to twist the lens to focus manually (I don't mean zooming in and out) with your camera? Otherwise, is the zoom on the lens optical or digital?
Just two things I can think of as to why the photos aren't as sharp as you'd like. ?

Dylan is growing at an alarming rate. He is a lovely horse, but very difficult to take a good photograph of. I only took a few of him tonight (trying out a new lense) I just happened to catch him at the right moment, even though the photograph makes him look bum high.....

Another horse I find difficult is Twink......... Absolutely stunning to look at, but I cannot get a good shot of him.

I know that Belle is by Boyzie, so I am slightly biaised..... but she truly is a beautiful horse, and I think she is getting better, and better each day..... Sar can I have a Grandfathers discount on her...... I really like that filly

This is a new camera...... Nikon D40 bought on Sunday..... Today the new lense arrived..... 70- 300 so this is my first try with it..... Like I say a day of trial and error....

I like my canon camera, and guess I have got use to it........

I like the fact that I can take a photograph and cut out the bits that are not required. I think I will have to focus on the picture I see in my head, and not necessarily the pic I see in the view finder......

Oooh a new camera how exciting! I think you will like the Nikon - and being able to get different lenses for the dslr's is a great bonus too.

Is the lens a sigma one - I use a Sigma 70-300 for most of my piccies - unless I am having a proper shoot and then I use the fancy Nikon 55-200 Chris bought me for my birthday, which is so crisp for action shots - I love it but it's bloody heavy to lug around!

Can you send me the original jpeg please of that Dylan pic - without your name on....then I will put your name on in the same font and format that I do the other gallery pics....

When I get a chance that is.... I have some lovely pics to add, and some lovely ones from Lauren too - just need to find a spare evening to add them all!

That's so cool about the new camera Paul, we're all jumping on the Nikon bandwagon! Did the camera come with an 18-55 lens? Like Sarah was saying Sigma (and Tamron, which I have) lenses aren't quite as sharp as the proper Nikon ones, at least not when fully zoomed in.

As well, when you go to press the shutter, if you hold it half down you'll see focus points come up on the viewfinder (if your camera is the same as ours!) so make sure that one is on the horse/object and then press the shutter button fully down. Hope that makes sense and sorry if you already knew this!

P.S. I want a new lens! So addictive!
