Don't like to put any dampeners on the suspense here but we had a maiden last year who went a year and 4 days! Even Wetherbys called me to check I had the right covering date on the form (we did, it was Shade Oak Stud and you only get 'one go' with these TBs!!)

When my mare had her first she was a month late and she did try her hardest to trick us!..she had full boobies and waxed up for 4 days before she ran milk and she kept that going for another week!! but it all led to a text book delivery and a gorgeous coloured colt well worth the wait! :D x

I'm sure she will be fine. She certainly looks in great condition.

When Xsara (our maiden) developed problems, the vet reckoned she would deliver that weekend (3 weeks early). She actually delivered 5 weeks later. Daughters had slept at the yard in the back of a Hilux Surf for the entire time!!

Think Nadja was camera shy... Apparently she started labour out in the field. Sarah managed to get her into the stable at the last minute....

A beautiful spotty COLT.

Well done everyone...

I was down mucking out the boys and had just been taking pics of Lola and baby Rocky in the school when Laura (Winter's owner) called accross that Nadja was foaling in the field!

So Stef, Chris and I went accross to the field to try and decide whethe we brought her in or let her foal in the fieldand we decided to go for it and get her in... I led her in to the yard and then gave her to Chris so I could run up and switch cam over (see I was thinking of you guys even in the stress!) and within minutes Billy was born! My girls and the liveries all got to watch from the balcony above so my girls are well chuffed (lissy and Laya named him!)

Beautifully marked with a stunning head. Rocky is also gorgeous and is buckskin splodgy not bay!

Pics to come later when I get home!
