Hello everyone,
I'm Clair, and although I've been using the website for a while, I've only just joined the Forum! Already spoken to Sarah via email, and told her what a great site it is.
I own a 15.2 TB x QH Chestnut mare (!) who I have owned for 12 years, and she is coming up 24 now! I also have a 11.2 welsh gelding for my Daughter, who is a real sweetie and is now used to being bossed around by the moody mare!
Been checking the foal cams, but not caught one live yet. I loved the look of the Palomino foal, and now from what I understand there is another! This is my ultmiate dream to own a palomino - My first pony was palomino and beautiful, but unfortunately was a bit of a headcase!
Anyway, hope to talk to you all soon, and hopefully one day see these lovely foals in real life!
Clair

Welcome to this very friendly forum from another newbie!

I have Quarterhorses, what line is your girl bred from?

Like you I was a'stealth' watcher for some time but am glad to have had the courage to join in. I am not normally a forum person, but everyone on here just seems so chilled out, helpful and friendly.

Hi,
My mare's history on the American side, her grandfather (on dam's side) is Goldmount Bourbon Genius, who was a palomino, and he according to the card I have, carried the 'Belvedere' blood line, if that means anything to you. Her mum was chestnut like my mare, but due to the history, they expected a palomino. Her sire is Red Man.
Her breeding does look quite good, and I would loved to have bred her, but although fairly fit, at nearly 24 I think she's a bit long in the tooth to be starting out on motherhood! Shame as I may have got a palomino!!! I was lucky to track down her breeder her sent me the history, and also some photos of her as a foal, which are nice to have. I will try and master the technical stuff and get some photos on, but at the mo can't even get my profile picture on!

Interesting breeding

Just out of interest if you go to

http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/goldmount+bourbon+genius

you will see his pedigree plus photos of him and his ancestors.

I did put in Red Man but nothing came up. interesting though

Christine
