Having had plenty of 'foal fixes' this year through this forum , I am at last happy to announce my first arrival. Rooster went to my girls late last year due to being at Twemlows. So I have had to twiddle my thumbs until now.

Anyway, 7.30a.m. this morning - nothing - 11am this morning, another pair of legs (and may I say - albeit I am bias - a very fine set they are too)

The pics taken about 4 hours old, a red dun colt (Drummer),

I have had a bit of a year of it and a couple of weeks ago had a still born dun colt (only about 8 weeks to go) Maple went into early labour , the vet was called and it was found that the colt had died recently, fortunately she gave natural birth to it - so needless to say I have been having kittens myself about the future foalings - give you the screaming ab dabs doesn't it.

Still got one more to go, why do I do it Shocked (Answer - see below)

Congratulations - what a beauty... Good luck for the next - I would say try not to worry but it has no affect when people say it to me! People who dont do this horse midwifery just dont understand do they.

Drummer is a red dun - that means he has a darker dorsal line, leg barrings, wither stripes etc etc. They can vary between extremely light to almost liver chestnut but still with all the dun factor.

So basically chestnut with the dun factor.

See below a picture of Chisum who is also a red dun, perhaps you can see more clearly
