lovely mare and foal .
have you ever thought of the possibility of her being an ivory champagne?
she resembles a mare i owned quite a bit if you ask me.
Maxhame:
ivory champagne mare.
im probaly completely wrong, but anythings possible lol
hi LP stands for "Leopard complex" and its the name thats been given to the collection of genes thought responsible for creating "appaloosa " coat patterns .i know its easier said than done ......but your filly is absolutely georgous , your mare is lovely & the stallion is fab too so try not to worry too much or it ll drive you mad ( trust me i know ).time will tell if your filly has inheirited either rey or LP off her mum as both will eventually show themselves in some way if they are present .....but theres a 50 % chance that its dad s colour & markings that have come through dominant (minus the cream ).if you took a big eraser and rubbed out all her lovely marking you d still have a beautiful , fit , healthy little girl .....so try not to worry , time will tell .....in the meantime enjoy your mum & daughter & take lots of pics to look back on .....i m sure a DNA test for Grey at least can t be far away now

After prolonged & religious studying of all the brown patches for white spots to appear... I somehow failed to notice all the little black spots appearing on Fifty's white bits!! She got rained on the other day and they stood out perfectly clearly, so now i'm sure that mum must be a few spot after all
Still totally in the dark as to Fifty's base coat color though... looks liver round the eyes, darker on the body and black mane and tail... so will be either bay / liver / gruello or some funny appaloosa exclusive weird color! Either way i'm really pleased with her and she keeps me interested for at least 20 minutes a day in shade change studying!!!
Will try to get some pic's on her in a min...
These aren't great pictures i'm afraid, the only spot that shows up well in the dry is the one on her nose... but she has one in the middle of her face and about 5 or 6 on her legs as well as a few around her coronet bands...
those spots in the positions you describe could well be conected to her Tobiano rather than a result of LP .....BOTH Springo & his Mum have similar & no LP in play .....but i maybe wrong .....she is beautiful anyway

Well one thing is now certain......... the base coat colour is dark liver chestnut!! She has lost about 1/3 of her foaly fluff and is a lovely chocolate colour underneath which I really like.
The spots are continuing to appear on her leg, but non on body that i have notices yet. My question with these spots regarding ink spots v's appy spots, is shouldn't ink spots be present from birth rather than appearing? She also has that funny double line around all her color patches, does that mean anything? Im very happy with her color, so this is really just out of curiosity / interest...
Also does liver chestnut just crop up as a mutation on the chestnut gene that would have come from Daddy, or is it dominant meaning i would have a clue as to Mummys base colour (still not had her DNA'd)...
