paul, sarah, I know how heartbreaking and shocking it is to see such things, as i've been there more times than I'd care to remember, so I'd just like to send you lots of love and hugs.

What desperately sad news, I am so sorry for all involved...It's hard to know what to say when these things happen, but please try not to blame yourselves for what is most definitely a horrible accident.

My thoughts are with you all xx

I cant help thinking 'WHAT IF'.. in both situations, if things had been done differently, if we had gone to get toby and daisy in from the field earler, and if we hadnt put toby and flash in the school with belle and affair, would this have happened. :( :(

I think the 'what if's' are a phase of coming to terms with what has happened. Its human nature to wonder if things should have been done differently and therefore the outcome changed. I drove myself near mad a couple of years back when a long time owned horse broke her neck. Me and that horse had been through so many near death experiences that I almost thought she was invincable, but it was a very silly reaction to something quite minor that ended up killing her - I nearly gave up horses there and then, but thats horses for you and there are unfortunately always going to be these times. We have to remember the joy they bring us outweighs the heartbreak that inevitably goes hand in hand with flight animals, and try to cope with the bad times the best we can without any self blame. I think what I am trying to say is, sometimes, no matter what we do, we just cant protect them from themselves. Big hugs to you all. x

You're right Clare - no point in what if's - they don't help anyone and can drive you mad.

Abbi & Paul are doing a great job of getting on with it, which is all you can do in these situations.

What and If are both questions in themselves....

These are two days, which I want to put behind me.

Nothing can ever prepare anyone for what happened to these two precious babies.

No matter what, I cannot have my Affair back, and nothing can take away the precious memories I have in my heart.

I was there at her conception, her birth and with her in spirit at her departure.

If there is any justice, we will meet again in another form, in happier times.

RIP my Lovely Filly.
