Humans or equine??? LOL

In my case on the human front - kinda yes, they got my sons birthweight completely wrong!! (said he was going to be tiny, in fact he was fine)
I don't think that helps though! As for the horse front, well it must happen???

Horsey scans lol!! Firm - what happened with your scans?

Luci got scanned in foal at 28days and then re-scanned at 52 days not in foal, but more than 2people have said to me that she looks in foal, (the pics on tobys page, she looks in foal from the front!) but i dunno whether its worth getting her re-scanned or not?

You could get her blood tested... But then Ballerina had a false negative and produced Bonita a few months later!

Hi Kate
I have had mares scanned not in foal who are in foal & a mare scanned in foal, then blood tested not in foal & then have a foal  I have had a mare scanned in foal who actually has a cyst that loves to fool as many vets as possible.

Lucy may not be in foal anymore, but from what other people have said & what she looks life......she more than likely is :)[/code]

Here is the picutre of Luci, i have still not had her scanned as i am undecided as to what to do. I am tempted to leave her and see if she pops anything out, but then it wouldnt be due until May, so if i leave her until then and nothing comes out, it might be too late to cover her again, whereas if i get her scanned and she is definately not in foal, she can be re-covered in March/April time.

Dunno what to do?

If she is in foal she will only be about 5 months gone, so i am not convinced. She shouldnt be that big already!

thats what I thought. She looks nearer 9 months.

This time last year I was wondering if Mischa wasnt in foal - when she was, and this year she looks in-foal - when she cant be.

However as you say it is probably best to just leave her until she is due to be covered.

Thats wrong - she'd be 6 months (not that a month makes much difference lol) but then last year when she was carrying toby she was huge and got massive at the end...

In foal or not??

Postby sahiba2 on Thu Oct 30, 2008 3:56 pm

Hi Kate,

With my mares it seems as if all the ones who aren't in foal are MUCH bigger than the ones that are!! I don't think you could tell externally at this stage it just depends on how quickly they get their figures back (some of us take longer than others   )
