Oliver was the only one that had it really bad, he was on a drip for a couple of days, but he is over it now and the vet thinks he caught some sort of flu virus before the strangles. Has been a week now since Inca got it and no one else is showing any signs yet so fingers crossed.

I rode past yours a while ago, saw a lovely bay one.. must have been the stallion i think. Ill pop down and have a nosey soon!

Poor you all.

We had it at our old yard twice. Our horse got snotty and had to go into the quarrantine barn which was awful as we didnt think she had it and was obviously putting her at risk. We had big sheets of plastic around each of the stables. Fortunately she didnt have it and was fine, but it was so sad seeing the couple that got it really badly.

Yep thats my boy. Im keeping him entire and also The General who is the foal at the top.
He looks like he will be somewhat bigger than his mum so he may end up being a sec D but i dont mind that to much as i wanted a small stallion and a big pony stallion. All works out well.
Dont know if I will put anything in foal next year the recession is certainly hitting my friends that are breeding welshies they arent able to sell anything and thats tough when some are Royal Welsh winners.
Any foals expected at Rollestone next year? BIT OFF TOPIC....

I know Kossette and Nadja are both in foal again to Ghost, but not sure about anything else.

This credit crunch seems to be hitting everything hard, I cannot sell Tia. After buying Flash I have to sell one of the others and she seems to be the obvious one. Anyone interested??

I know what you mean, i was going to put two mare in foal next year now im thinking of having the bay colt gelded and turning him inot a smart little ride and drive pony. Its a job to know what to do. My friend in wales has 20 youngsters to sell and nothing is moving. She also had 3 pedigree pups to sell and ended up giving them away to family and friends. Yuk time for a lot of people....

Here in Spain, something similar is happening but it´s more because of the prices than the lack of money. The horses are sooooo expensive.

We´re thinking of buying anther horse but we are going to wait to the beginning of winter to see if the prices go down a bit!
